Fire Alarm Service Technician — Louisiana & East Texas

Job Description

We are currently seeking motivated Fire Alarm service technicians with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic. The ideal candidates will be state certified in Louisiana or Texas and must be eligible and capable of certification in other states.

The position requires installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems. The preferred candidates must be able to provide service across varied product lines.

Technicians will be required to communicate with internal and external customers in a respectful and courteous manner and represent our company in a professional demeanor.

Overnight travel may be required on occasion. Candidates must be able to accommodate after hours' service calls occasionally.

Requirements:

  • State certified Fire Alarm (Louisiana and/or Texas)

Fire Sprinkler Designer

Job Description

We are currently seeking motivated Fire Sprinkler Designer with a positive attitude and a solid work ethic. The position requires:

  • Produce mechanical fire sprinkler system drawings (including wet, dry, pre-action, special hazard, standpipe, and fire pump systems) and layouts of fire protection systems to meet specifications, NFPA and local codes. Design new and renovate existing fire sprinkler systems.
  • Analysis of blue prints, site visits and communication with field and jurisdictional personnel will be expected.
  • Supervise preparation of fabrication lists.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations and stocklisting material.
  • Work closely with Sprinkler Designer Manager and sales staff.
  • Work alone or with other designers to generate permit and shop drawings.
  • Prepare as-built drawings and end of contract documentation/submittal packages.
  • Research and prepare drawings for projects for cost saving and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain project drawing files, drawing library and associated records.
  • Check accuracy of work.
  • Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to communicate with employees, employers, and customers.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task and prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Complete and submit time reports and other documents as required.
  • May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
  • Comply with corporate safety programs. Ensure that personal safety training is thorough, complete, and up-to-date. Identify safety issues and hazards and notify safety coordinator/supervisor of conditions that require corrective actions.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have NICET II or higher in Sprinkler Design and Layout.
  • Three (3) years minimum experience in sprinkler system layout.
  • At least one (1) years experience in hydraulic calculations.
  • Working knowledge and practice of sprinkler AutoCAD, latest version.
  • Working knowledge an practice of SprinkCAD, preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NFPA 13,14,20,24.
  • Competent in reading and applying project specification to designs.
  • Good communication skills - written and oral.
  • Excellent 'Customer Service Skills'.
  • Computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Valid Drivers License with good driving record.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in office and meeting settings.
  • Must be able to use computer keyboard and focus attention to PC monitor for prolonged periods of time.
